Monday, April 23rd, 1962: NL Star of the Week Picked
His face might be sun-baked after all the years he's invested in this game, but 35-year-old Roy Sievers of the Los Angeles Dodgers is still playing a kid's game -- and getting paid for it. The veteran right fielder had a tremendous week and was named the National League Player of the Week.

Sievers drilled 15 hits in 25 at-bats and 3 home runs on his way to posting a .600 average. He also knocked in 15 runs and scored 9 times.

This year Sievers has hit at a .413 clip with 23 RBIs, 7 home runs and 16 runs scored.
Monday, March 19th, 1962: Los Angeles's Moore Sidelined for Season
The news is bad in Los Angeles. The Dodgers have lost the services of closer Ray Moore for the rest of the season due to a fractured skull. Moore was injured in a recent game with the New York (N) Giants while being hit by a pitch and is expected to miss 8 months.
