Monday, April 16th, 1962: Drabowsky Superb Against Minnesota
A pitcher's main job is to keep the opposition off the scoreboard and Kansas City pitcher Moe Drabowsky did just that today in a 1-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins at Municipal Stadium. He gave up no runs in his start, permitted 6 hits and had 4 strikeouts.

Thursday, March 8th, 1962: Snyder out of Action
Minnesota fans will be disappointed to learn that Russ Snyder developed back spasms while colliding with a player at a base in today's game. After the doctor informed the Minnesota Twins manager that Snyder was expected to miss 4 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the right fielder could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

Sunday, January 14th, 1962: It's Official: CL Widmar Signs with Twins
Minnesota fans are justifiably excited today as the team unveiled their latest acquisition in Al Widmar. The 36-year-old is a big money player and will certainly have an immediate impact on the organization.

Some estimates have him making $8,600,000 over 2 years, though media representatives haven't been able to confirm the exact figure.

In 211 games in his career, Widmar has a record of 22-25 with 89 strikeouts and a 4.07 ERA. He has earned 64 saves.
