Monday, April 16th, 1962: Milwaukee's Pinson NL's Best
Vada Pinson has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 23-year-old center fielder of the Milwaukee Braves had a pretty fair bat in the National League over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.

Monday, April 9th, 1962: 5-Hit Game for Pinson
The Milwaukee Braves upended the Pittsburgh Pirates at Forbes Field today in large part to center fielder Vada Pinson, who had a smashing day with the bat -- he racked up 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and help propel the Braves to a 9-2 victory.

V. Pinson singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off A. Lipetri in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off G. Snyder in the 9th.

So far this season Pinson is batting .452 with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 14 hits in 31 at-bats, 2 walks and a .485 OBP. Pinson has played in 8 games.
Monday, April 9th, 1962: Star of the Week Picked in NL
A battle-tested Elston Howard declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 33-year-old Milwaukee left fielder collected the National League Player of the Week Award.

He wrapped up the week with a .458 average, 11 hits in 24 at-bats, 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
